Time-tested solutions with a range of new features
Once again EAE will be using the drupa - which this year will be held in Düsseldorf (Stand 16B77) - to present the company's innovative strength. Already at last year's IfraExpo in Vienna, EAE, a leading software solution provider based in Ahrensburg near Hamburg, presented a new solution that is still unique in the printing industry: its Baltic Star control console with a 16:10 monitor. This new widescreen display provides the following advantages for the printing staff:

In the masks for setting the ink presets - in particular for double-sided operation - the bar graphs can be displayed in much more detail. Printers are able to read the settings for ink presets, dampening nozzles and registers faster and more easily. When printers do not set the ink presets via the hard keys on the control console, but via these bar graphs in the corresponding mask instead, accuracy with a mouse or cursor is considerably higher.
Visualization of the web tension on a 16:10 monitor is much clearer since more elements can be displayed in the same mask. Printers can then respond much faster to how the tension of individual webs has been set, since they can see all important elements on the monitor at the same time. Large presses can be visualized much more clearly on a wide-screen monitor. On old 4:3 screens it was not possible to display the entire press without using the scrollbar. 16:10 monitors have sufficient space for this.

But a number of EAE solutions, too, have been thoroughly overhauled, while others have been enhanced to provide additional features. EAE system solutions now support a PDF workflow. This is now the preferred file format in an increasing number of publishing companies, and EAE has responded to popular customer demand by introducing this workflow. In addition to the PDF workflow, Print boasts a new display - which corresponds to the page dummy used by planners in publishing houses - for planning double-truck in tabloid and broadsheet format. In this display mode common pages can also be easily referenced. In addition to this, tabloid pairing is possible during production planning.

Info, EAE's reporting system, also boasts a number of significant enhancements. The latest version of Info enables you to send reports by e-mail. Info also provides an option for entering the paper consumption at the reelstand.

A significant feature of EAE's products are their open systems. This applies not only to its PRIME interfaces, but also to interfaces to solutions from competitors such as ABB MPS, MAN PECOM, SAP HR et al.

Along with all these new features EAE will be focusing on two other topics at the drupa: cost reduction and retrofitting. Despite heavy investment in state-of-the-art production technology, hidden savings potentials still exist. We'd like to help you discover these potentials. A large number of EAE's MES products (Manufacturing Execution Solutions) are designed to save costs. Last, but not least, our exhibition team will be providing expert advice on press retrofits.
You can of course obtain information on EAE's entire range of Manufacturing Execution Solutions at their exhibition stand in Düsseldorf. We would be pleased to help you find the right solution for your automated, efficient newspaper end-to-end production workflow.
