Oosterhout, February 2025
- Pressedruck Potsdam GmbH, under the leadership of Managing Director Bengt Föbker, has recently made a significant investment to enhance its printing capacities. The company has commissioned QIPC-EAE for a comprehensive retrofit of its printing press, Section F50. The goal of this initiative is to increase the reliability of production processes and improve the quality of the printed products.
PDP has established itself as a leading contract printing service provider for newspapers and newspaper-like products for external publishing customers. The company has secured a long-term printing contract for the production of the newspaper Tagesspiegel. This contract highlights PDP’s focus on delivering high-quality products in an increasingly competitive market.
The retrofit includes several components aimed at further optimizing the production process. The package includes:
- EAE Press Control Retrofit
- EAE Drive Control Retrofit
- IDS-3D density with integrated colour register control
- mRC-3D cut-off register control
- Integration of ribbon stitchers
For PDP, choosing QIPC-EAE was a logical step, particularly due to the long-standing collaboration between the two companies. This partnership has fostered a relationship of trust. Bengt Föbker explains: “Our decision to choose QIPC-EAE was an obvious one. The people behind this cooperation are highly respected, and we have full confidence in their expertise. We not only expect improvements in our production processes but also excellent service in our native language, German.”
In addition, it was essential for PDP that EAE could upgrade Section F50 while ensuring that the production of paper webs from Section F40 to Folder F50 remains possible. Notably, EAE uses components and modules that are readily available on the market, and QIPC-EAE guarantees the delivery of a complete package from a single source. This combination provides PDP with the advantage of having a single point of contact for the project, ensuring that all system interfaces come from one provider. This is crucial for maintaining the high quality that
Tagesspiegel expects from its products. Föbker adds: "This investment allows us to ensure the level of quality that our customers, such as Tagesspiegel, expect from us."
With this investment, PDP is looking optimistically to the future. The retrofit will contribute to even higher reliability and efficiency of the printing presses, enabling the company to achieve their long-term goals. The system upgrade includes a K&B Commander section with EAE control (built in 2000). PDP also has a modular expansion for the second K&B commander section, which prepares the company for further growth and long-term production reliability.
PDP believes that this investment not only improves production processes, but also further strengthens its cooperation with QIPC-EAE. The printing company looks forward to securing their long-term production and continuing to deliver high-quality products to their customers in an increasingly competitive market in the future.
